Funding for Access to HE Provision in 2011/12

The Skills Funding Agency ‘Guidance Note 6’ which was published on 14 December 2010 with further updates issued in January 2011, contained important information about the future policy for the funding of adult (19 years+) provision which will have an impact on Access to HE courses. The Hughes Report

The Government Advocate for Access to Education Simon Hughes has now published his report.  The report submitted to the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister makes 33 recommendations on what can be done to improve access to higher education. Click here to download The Hughes Report

Safeguarding the Future of Access Conference March 2011

Securing the future of Access was the key theme at the first OCNLR Access to HE conference which took place at the end of March. The aim of the event was to draw FE and HE staff together and explore ways of ensuring that this very important provision continues to receive Government support throughout this period of financial austerity. Responses from delegates were overwhelmingly positive and have left us in no doubt that Access remains high on the widening participation agenda. Papers of interest include:
