Founded in 1823, Birkbeck is a world-class research and teaching institution and London’s only specialist provider of part-time, evening higher education. As a member college of the University of London, Birkbeck shares its standards and awards internationally respected University of London qualifications. The College encourages applications from students without traditional qualifications and our unique evening teaching model provides the opportunity to fit university studies around busy lives.

As established experts in the field of part-time education, we have a real understanding of the needs of students who are juggling daytime work or other commitments with evening study. We provide all the support services for university study, including a student centre for advice and information, a five-floor library, study skills support, IT facilities and a students’ union.

As a Birkbeck student, you can be sure you’re getting an unrivalled teaching and learning experience. Birkbeck has ranked number one in the National Student Surveys every year since 2005.
