The National Youth Theatre (NYT) is fundamentally a place of creative learning, a place where young people learn through active engagement and experience rather than through strictly formal pedagogical structures. As an educational centre and a resource for learning, NYT promotes artistic excellence, cultural enrichment and personal and professional development; providing young people with unparalleled creative learning experiences. We deliver our own specialist brand of courses in acting and technical skills and offer further training and progression routes through productions, projects, new writing courses, volunteering opportunities and accredited courses for young people at risk. We also develop important partnerships with the formal education sector delivering projects both locally and nationally using drama made by, and for, young people. These projects include relevant and high impact workshops, resources and live performances.
