From the 2013/14 academic year, loans will be available for learners in Further Education and training aged 24 and above studying at Level 3 and above, including Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships. The Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) are publishing monthly briefings to help colleges and training organisations prepare for the introduction of loans. The briefings will be produced jointly with the Skills Funding Agency, the Student Loans Company, and HM Revenue and Customs. Download the Skills Funding Agency 'Funding Rules 2012/13' (PDF) Following consultation with Providers and employers the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) have produced a single document which sets out the Funding Rules for the 2012/13 funding year. Effective from 1 August 2012, the document puts in one place the rules for funding and will combine the supporting audit evidence required to support them. The qualification aims to develop the learners knowledge and skills needed when working with food in health and social care and early years and childcare settings.
