Chief Executive Daniel Khan OBE will be presenting the OCN London Adult Learner of the Year Award at this years Adult Learner Week London Awards Ceremony
Written by: OCNLR News 01 April 2010
Following the success of our first Conference last year, we decided to stay with the popular format of a series of practical workshops combined with some information on national policies and the opportunity to see examples of innovative practice going on in the Network. IT was certainly a theme running through the day as we took part in a virtual classroom lesson designed for a cohort of learners living many miles apart and considered the entree of computer gaming as a valid and successful teaching and learning tool. We saw how our colleagues from New Regents College in Hackney are leading the way in consortium working and how our colleagues at LEAP are working with young people to develop skills as peer mediators. Delegates took part in an interactive session sharing bright ideas for assessment and learned how to make the most of everyday ephemera to support the teaching of functional skills. Our thanks to all our outstanding contributors and to everyone who came and participated so enthusiastically.
