NOCN National Qualifications

OCNLR Recognised Centres have access to the full range of NOCN qualifications. Please use the links below to access the list of NOCN qualifications available on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

Alternatively go to www.nocn.org.uk

NOCN Qualifications are:

  • Approved by Ofqual, the qualifications regulatory authority
  • Eligible for Skills Funding Agency (SFA) and Young People’s Learning Agency (YPLA) funding

Like all qualifications on the QCF NOCN’s qualifications are built from units of credit – small bite-sized pieces of learning. Each unit of credit can be awarded and certificated individually. This means that the units can be accumulated over time to form full national qualifications. This flexible approach enables learners to achieve in incremental steps, therefore enabling a higher success rate.

Qualifications are offered from Entry level to Level 3 and can form the basis of return to learn courses, Pre-Access and, for example, specialist courses in employability skills, languages, skills for life and functional skills.

Units covered by learners can be combined into different sizes of qualifications – Awards, Certificates and Diplomas. Using this method enables you to build a qualification that meets your learners' needs and offer learners the opportunity to gain credit for their achievement from small steps to full sized Diplomas.

Each Qualification comes with its own Guide which details how the qualification can be used and how to design the best routes for your learners.

In order to deliver NOCN Qualifications and/or units of NOCN Qualifications you must comply with the processes detailed in the NOCN Centre Handbook and to qualification specific information provided in the Qualification Guide.
