New NOCN Entry Level Qualifications

Entry Level Award/Certificate/Diploma in Personal Progress (Entry 1)

This is a long-awaited suite of qualifications that have been snapped up by providers in London since their approval in September. Designed to address the needs of learners working at Entry 1 or below and in particular those with learning difficulties and disabilities, they meet the requirements of the Foundation Learning (FL) independent living / supported employment strand and provide a foundation for lifelong learning by developing transferable social and life skills which are essential for living and working in the community.

Entry Level Award/Certificate in Media Literacy (Entry 3)

Developed in partnership with Ofcom, the independent regulator for the UK communications industries, and with the support of Skillset, these new qualifications provide an introduction to the media with a view to encouraging individuals to actively engage with, question and interpret the information and images presented to them through a range of media formats. The qualifications are particularly targeted at vulnerable groups, including those with learning difficulties and disabilities, and are also suitable for use with young people, 14 years upwards.

Watch this space for further new and innovative qualifications at Entry 1, Entry 2 and Entry 3.
