Introduction to internal and external verification

Designed for people who wish to be internal verifiers for OCN accredited provision or who have to design and operate a verification system for their organisation.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the session participants will be able to:

  • Describe the purposes of internal and external verification
  • Explain the role of internal verifier and quality reviewer
  • Evaluate their own organisation’s model of internal verification

Training content

  • Purpose and benefits of verification systems
  • Review of internal verifications systems in use in OCNLR centres
  • Recording outcomes of internal verification
  • Content and purpose of quality reviewer reports

  • A three hour session
  • Eligible as contribution to CPD hours for teachers (attendance certificate issued on request)
  • Held once a month
  • Located at OCN London Region office in City Road
  • Cost £50 per person
  • Non-accredited training
