Designed for those with considerable experience of Internal Verification who wish to deepen their knowledge and develop their practice; and those with non-OCN Internal Verifier qualifications wishing to proceed to NOCN Approved Internal Verifier Status (AIVS).

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

• Carry out an informed review of their current internal verification processes and implement improvements
• Ensure that tutors delivering credit-based learning accreditation are receiving optimum support and professional development
• Establish systems for taking part in regional and national standardisation

Training content

• New NOCN/OCNLR developments and quality assurance requirements
• The developing role of the Internal Verifier
• Review of own practice against the NOCN CPD unit
• Running and recording a local standardisation activity
• Information sharing and group activities
• Assessment of portfolio of evidence and signing off against the NOCN CPD unit
• Advice on what is required to achieve full AIV status

• Accredited course offering an award of 3 NOCN credits at level 3 for successful candidates
• One day attendance PLUS equivalent time at home or work to produce a portfolio of evidence (for those wishing to achieve the award)
